New Delhi, 8 April 2026: When Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians came face to face on the ground of Gauhati, the most talked about thing among the cricket lovers was the battle between an 18 year old teenager and the world’s best bowler. Rajasthan Royals’ young sensational batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi proved that talent is not dependent on age by winning the battle against Jasprit Bumrah. Vaibhav faced 5 balls of Bumrah and scored 13 runs with 2 sixes. After defeating Bumrah with a strike rate of more than 200, now Vaibhav has locked his next target. There will be a match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Gauhati on 10th April. Among the 5 bowlers that Vaibhav Suryavanshi wants to target in this match, the biggest name is that of experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Apart from this, he is also likely to adopt an aggressive stance against Krunal Pandya, Jacob Duffy, Abhinandan Singh and Suyyash Sharma.

For Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the fight against Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is also personal. Last year, during his IPL debut, Bhuvi Vaibhav was clean bowled for just 16 runs at Bengaluru’s home ground. Now in the 2026 season, Vaibhav has a chance to avenge that defeat and spoil Bhuvi’s line-length at Rajasthan’s home ground Guwahati. Suryavanshi’s coach Manish Oza had said, “If Bhuvi gets swing, he can prove to be more dangerous for Vaibhav than Bumrah. But if he does not get swing, Vaibhav will not leave him. If other bowlers bowl in Vaibhav’s zone, his destination will be the roof of the stadium.”

RCB bowlers have also performed well so far and they will try to maintain this performance in the next match. RCB bowler Jacob Duffy took 5 wickets in IPL 2026, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 4 wickets, Abhinandan Singh took 3 wickets while Suyyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya played an important role in the team’s victory by taking two wickets each in two matches. Now it remains to be seen who will have the upper hand on the Gauhati grounds on the night of 10th April. Will this 15 year old Singh single-handedly destroy RCB’s bowling lineup?
