Helen Flanagan has hinted at a possible return to Coronation Street as she admitted the ITV soap "will always have a piece of my heart" - eight years after she left the programme. The actress, who played wild child Rosie Webster on the cobbles, left in June 2018 in order to go on maternity leave with her second child.
She made her Corrie debut at just 10 years old, playing the role of the tearaway youngster from 2000 until 2012. Helen returned to the show in 2017, two years after the birth of her eldest child Matilda, but left again the following year. Though the exit coincided with her maternity leave, Helen wanted to pursue other projects.
Since then, reality TV and modelling work has filled her schedule but she's itching for an acting return on TV screens. In an exclusive interview for Express.co.uk on behalf of Paddy Power, the actress, 35, opened up about the beloved soap and admitted she would love to return.
Helen said: "I would absolutely love to return. It will always have a piece of my heart because I grew up there. I'd love to revisit Rosie and explore new storylines.
I'd love to see her as a mum, have a big wedding, and even be an iconic Rovers Return barmaid."
The on-screen star recently reunited with her former co-stars as she uploaded a photo of their get together on Instagram last month.
She posed next to Sally Dynevor, who plays her mum Sally Webster and Brooke Vincent, who portrayed her sister Sophie.
They came to support Helen as she stars in new show The Memory of Water at Octagon Theatre Bolton.
She captioned the post: "They came. Love you both so much."
During her time on the soap, Helen has been involved in some explosive storylines, including having an affair with teacher John Stape, who subsequently kidnapped her and blackmailing her own mum as revenge.
