A tough night for Mumbai Indians ended with some honest words from captain Hardik Pandya. After a disappointing loss to Rajasthan Royals, Hardik Pandya made it clear that the bowling unit needed to do better.
In the rain-shortened 11-over match, Rajasthan Royals put up a strong total of 150/3. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the charge with an unbeaten 77 off 32 balls, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added a quick 39. Their explosive start included an 80-run opening partnership, with a total of nine sixes between them.
Chasing such a high score in a short game was always going to be difficult. Mumbai Indians managed only 123/9, falling short by 27 runs. This marked their second consecutive defeat, leaving the team under pressure.
Speaking after the match, skipper Hardik Pandya admitted that the bowlers failed to deliver at crucial moments. He said the team did not execute their plans properly, while also crediting Rajasthan Royals for playing excellent cricket. According to him, the responsibility lay mainly with the bowling unit, not the batters, who were forced to play aggressively due to the steep target.
He explained that in T20 cricket, even a few good deliveries can make a big difference. Hardik Pandya pointed out that the 27-run margin could have been reduced if the bowlers had delivered just a handful of better balls, which might have prevented some of the big hits.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s innings stood out as he mixed powerful shots with smart placement, hitting 10 boundaries and four sixes. His performance ensured Rajasthan Royals stayed in control from the beginning.
In the end, it was a game where small moments made a big difference and Mumbai Indians were left to reflect on what went wrong.
