Char Dham Yatra 2026: Chardham Yatra has special spiritual significance in Hindu religion, where lakhs of devotees come every year for darshan. Gangotri Dham, Yamunotri Dham, Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham together located in Uttarakhand are called Chardham.

This year in 2026, the Chardham Yatra will start from 19th April on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. On the same day, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be opened for devotees, while after a few days, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham will also be opened for darshan.

How to register for Chardham Yatra?

Registration is mandatory to go on Chardham Yatra. Its process is as follows:

• Log in to the official website of Uttarakhand Tourism Department.
• Create a new account by entering your mobile number and name.
• Complete verification through OTP.
• go to dashboard "Create/Manage Tour" Select option.
• Select the date of the journey and the places you want to visit.
• Upload information of all passengers like name, age, Aadhaar number and photo.
• Select the date and time as per the available slot.
• After submitting the form, you will get a travel pass with QR code, which you can download or print.

Keep these things in mind before going on a trip

• It is important to keep Aadhar card and travel pass with you.
• Before going to high altitude areas, get a health checkup done.
• Keeping in mind the possibility of sudden change in weather, keep warm clothes and raincoat with you.

Opening dates of Chardham in 2026

Yamunotri Dham

The doors of Yamunotri Dham will open on 19 April 2026 on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. It is considered to be the origin place of the holy Yamuna river.

Gangotri Dham

The doors of Gangotri Dham will also open on 19 April 2026. It is believed that it was from here that Mother Ganga descended on earth.

Kedarnath Dham

The doors of Kedarnath Dham temple will be opened on 22 April 2026. This is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and here Shivalinga is worshiped in the form of a bull.

Badrinath Dham

The doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened for devotees on 23 April 2026. This is considered to be the sacred place of Nar-Narayan form of Lord Vishnu.
