New Delhi. Voting for the assembly elections of Kerala, Assam and Union Territory Puducherry will take place on Thursday, April 9. There are 140 assembly seats in Kerala. Whereas, there are 126 assembly seats in Assam and 30 in Puducherry. In Kerala, LDF led by Left parties and in Assam, BJP led NDA formed the government for two consecutive terms. At the same time, in Puducherry also, NDA formed the government by winning the elections in 2021. Counting of votes at all three places is to take place on May 4.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, LDF had won 99 seats. Whereas, Congress-led UDF had won 41 seats. This time Congress is making full efforts to form the UDF government in Kerala. At the same time, leftist parties including CM Pinarayi Vijayan claim that their alliance is going to form the government in Kerala for the third time. Talking about Puducherry, here in 2021 NDA had won 16 seats. Whereas, the people of Puducherry made Congress win only 2 seats. This time also BJP has claimed that NDA government led by it will be formed in Puducherry.

Voting for the assembly elections is also to be held in the north-eastern state of Assam on Thursday. In the 2021 Assam Assembly elections, the BJP-led NDA government was formed for the second consecutive time. BJP had won 60 seats here last time. Whereas, Congress had won only 29 seats. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma claims that NDA government will be formed here again. At the same time, Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Gaurav Gogoi are hopeful that the people of Assam will form their party’s government. Rahul Gandhi has accused Himanta Biswa Sarma of being corrupt in every public meeting in Assam and has said that he will be sent to jail if the Congress government is formed. At the same time, CM Himanta has said that to send them to jail, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will have to take second birth.
