Gujarat Titans (GT) will be greatly boosted by the return of captain Shubman Gill as they take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in their IPL 2026 clash on Wednesday. Gill missed the previous match because of a muscle spasm and Rashid Khan led the team in his absence.
Sai Sudharsan confirmed that Gill would be back at the top of the order and Gujarat will be hoping that their captain will inspire them to a comeback victory after a loss to Rajasthan Royals at Ahmedabad.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, come into this match with two wins in two matches. Even though the capital's outfit have been winning, their top order have failed to impress the audiences. In both matches the opposition have picked early wickets and have to look at Sameer Rizvi to win them games. The left hander played two good knocks of 70 and a blistering 90 which helped DC win both their matches.
With players like KL Rahul and Nitish Rana not firing at all in the tournament, Delhi have stuck to their guns because they are winning matches.
GT middle order struggling, DC top order under pressure
Where Delhi's problem is in their top order, Gujarat's issues lie in their middle order. In their matches, GT have started really well but they have always fallen short at the end of the innings. Players No. 4-7 in the order haven't been firing in a game and it has cost them a lot of games.
With Jos Buttler not finding any form either, Gujarat would need their middle order to step up.
This is one of the two teams that will want to find form in their early season matches.

Pitch, Weather and Match Details
This match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. This is a good pitch to bat on as it has small boundaries and a flat surface to play on. With some amount of moisture because of the rain over last few days, there might be some help for fast bowlers in their initial spell, but the ground will become very good to bat on as the game progresses. With dew expected in the second innings, the team batting second might enjoy a more relaxed game.
On average 171-180 runs are scored here in first innings.
With rain and thunderstorm chances in earlier in the day the sky is expected to clear by the evening. There should not be any chance of rain when the match begins.
