Why Dhurandhar 2 box office collection day 10 matters as it looks to break another Pushpa 2 weekend record- The Week

The box office rivalry between Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Pushpa 2: The Rule is one for the ages. Those excited by box office number games will be closely watching the weekend collection of Aditya Dhar’s spy-action drama. This is because the second weekend since release was significant for Pushpa 2.

On its second Friday, Dhurandhar 2 reportedly collected ₹41.55 crore. In comparison, Pushpa 2 had earned ₹43.43 crore on its second Friday. However, the Telugu movie was able to follow it up with strong collections—getting ₹75.49 crore on Saturday and ₹91.31 crore on Sunday, taking its total second-weekend collection to ₹210.23 crore (India gross).

The Dhurandhar franchise has already moved past what the Pushpa movies have achieved so far. With the Hindi film looking to break the total collection record of Pushpa 2the performance this weekend could become vital. According to Sacnilk, Pushpa: The Rise earned around ₹350 crore globally, while Pushpa 2 collected approximately ₹1,742 crore.

As per Sacnilk, on the Day 8 all-language nett, Dhurandhar 2 earned ₹49.70 crore compared to ₹37.45 crore for Pushpa 2. It holds a higher total India gross of ₹866.00 crore against Dhurandhar 2’s ₹805.32 crore, and a higher total India nett of ₹725.80 crore compared to ₹674.17 crore.

However, Dhurandhar 2 has made a statement run across international markets with an overseas total of ₹274.00 crore against ₹193.00 crore for Pushpa 2. Consequently, the total worldwide collection for Dhurandhar 2 stands higher at ₹1,079.32 crore (and counting), while Pushpa 2 managed ₹1,059.00 crore, as the data-tracking website showed.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge was released on 19 March in the Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. The movie stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

The sequel charts the rise of Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, in the Karachi underworld, while also delving into his origins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi—tracing the journey of the young man who eventually transforms into the covert operative.
