Samay Raina has made a strong comeback nearly a year after the India’s Got Latent controversy, returning with his stand-up special Still Alive. In the show, he candidly addressed the backlash he faced following the incident.

During his performance, Samay Raina spoke about how criticism came from all sides after Ranveer Allahbadia’s comment went viral. He remarked that “Politicians, celebrities and Sunil Pal” were among those who targeted him, adding humorously, “Sab aa gaye the khane humko.”

Samay Raina also recalled Sunil Pal advising him to take cues from Kapil Sharma. Taking a subtle dig, Samay shared that the irony wasn’t lost on him, adding, “Kapil Sharma khud agle episode mein aa rahe the. Kapil Sharma khud message kar rahe the mujhe, ‘love your show’.”

Samay Raina also spoke about criticism from Mukesh Khanna, widely known for playing Shaktiman. Recalling the moment, he joked, “Shaktiman aa gaya tha yaar. Shaktiman se kaise ladenge.”

He went on to make a sharp remark, claiming that during the time Shaktiman aired, several children tried to imitate the superhero by jumping off buildings. Questioning the criticism, he added, “Tune bacche maare hai, tu kya moral high ground lekar baitha hai?”

At the end of the show, Samay Raina announced the second season of India’s Got Latent, which got the loudest cheer in the room.

Samay said that every joke is a tiny revolution and the show will go on.
