Following the response to his film Tere Ishk Mein, filmmaker Aanand L Rai is gearing up for another ambitious project. Riding high on that momentum, Rai is now reportedly developing a new film and is keen to reunite Kriti and Dhanush on screen once again.

Dhanush and Kriti to star in Aanand L Rai’s film

Following the response received by Kriti Sanon and Dhanush starrer, Aanand L Rai is keen on working with the actors again. And while paperwork for the new project needs to be completed, as per reports, Dhanush and Kriti liked the script. “Discussions are underway, and while both actors have responded positively to the script, the formal paperwork is still in progress. If everything falls into place, the film is expected to go on floors towards the end of this year," said a source to Pinkvilla.

The new venture is said to be set against a rich period backdrop, promising a romance unlike anything seen before. According to reports, it’s envisioned as an epic love story, and Rai feels Dhanush and Kriti are best suited for the roles.

About Tere Ishk Mein

Touted to be a spiritual sequel to Raanjhanaa, the intense romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein opened to mixed reviews. Set against the backdrop of Benaras, the film follows Mukti and Shankar. Shankar gets suspended from the Air Force due to his aggressive behaviour. He meets Mukti, a counsellor, to address his anger issues.

After the film was dropped on Netflix, many users pointed out some inconsistencies in the story. One of them is the unrealistic portrayal of certain PhD-related academic content, which found its way to social media, sparking an epic meme fest.

However, at the box office, the film had a great opening and earned ₹50 crore in the opening weekend. Made on a budget of ₹75 crore, the movie ended its worldwide box office journey at ₹155 crore gross.
