RBI MPC Meeting 2026 updates: Will Governor Sanjay Malhotra reduce repo rate

New Delhi: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra will on Wednesday announce the outcome of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting. Malhotra will announce the outcome of the MPC at 10 am today. The RBI head will also give an update on the India’s GDP and inflation forecast amid the West Asia tensions.
The Reserve Bank is expected to keep the repo rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent. The RBI reduced rates by a total of 125 basis points since February 2025. In December it cut the repo rate by 25 basis points, while in the last MPC meeting held in February, no chnage was announced.
