Afsana Khan, celebrated for her emotive and powerful singing, is making significant strides in both the film industry and independent music scene. With popular tracks such as 'Titliaan', 'Naal Nachna' from 'Dhurandhar', and 'Rang De Lal' from 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', she showcases a unique blend of intensity and versatility.
Reflecting on her involvement in 'Rang De Lal', Afsana expressed her surprise at being included in the sequel. "I had no idea I was part of 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'. I received a call just two days before the recording, and now the song is out," she shared, expressing her joy at contributing her voice to both films.
Her excitement for 'Naal Nachna' was immediate. "When I received the call about 'Dhurandhar', I was thrilled. Learning that Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt were part of the cast made me realize I couldn't miss this opportunity." Although another artist had previously recorded the song, she remained authentic to her style. "They wanted my unique touch, and I gave it my all," she noted. Afsana also reminisced about a pivotal moment with Shashwat Sachdev, who had considered her for 'Bhangra Ta Sajda' early in her career. "Back then, it wasn’t my time. But he remembered me after 7 to 8 years. That’s true humanity," she reflected.
When discussing the distinction between film and independent music, Afsana stated, "A singer's role is to sing. Regardless of whether it's for a film or an independent project, I pour my heart into every song." While she previously favored melancholic tunes, she now enjoys a variety of genres. "I appreciate both romantic heartbreak songs and high-energy tracks. It’s all about the emotion behind the music."
