Desk. Whenever an ODI match takes place, some record is made. Players want to create new records, but sometimes such records are made which no one wants. One such shameful act was done by Zimbabwe. Which happened in the year 2004. It is not that this never happened after this. History was repeated again in the year 2020 and this time the USA i.e. America did this work. The record of smallest score in One Day International is in the name of these two teams.

In the year 2004, the teams of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka were face to face at the Harare Cricket Ground. In this match, when the Zimbabwe team came out to bat first, no one would have guessed that a history was going to be made today, which will remain in the news for many years to come. The entire Zimbabwe team was out for only 35 runs in this match. In the 50 over match, Zimbabwe team could bat only 18 overs and returned to the pavilion.

In this match, Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas bowled brilliantly and sent four batsmen to the pavilion giving only 11 runs in 9 overs. Vaas bowled four overs of maidens, in which no runs were conceded. Apart from this, Parvez Maharoof also took three wickets for three runs in 3 overs. Sri Lanka won the match at the loss of one wicket in only 9.2 overs. This match remained recorded in the history books for many years. No other team in the world was out on such a score or even a lower score.

After this came the year 2020. In February, the teams of USA and Nepal were face to face. In this match, the USA team, which came to bat first, was also out for only 35 runs. The team batted for 12 overs, even though it was an ODI and the entire 50 overs match was to be played. Nepal later won the match by scoring 36 runs for two wickets in 5.2 overs. If we talk about the smallest team total in the history of ODI cricket, then this score comes to the fore. Both the teams scored equally i.e. 35 runs. However, there was a long time between the two matches. Now it has to be seen whether this score of 35 runs will ever be broken or will remain like this.
