MUMBAI: Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) today (April 7, 2026) announced the commencement of production of the all-new Volkswagen Tigun at its state-of-the-art Pune plant. The new Tygan further reinforces the group’s vision of “Made in India for India and the World”. The new Tygan embodies a combination of high localization, precision manufacturing processes and a deep understanding of Indian customer needs.
The new Volkswagen Taygun builds on the strong foundation laid by its predecessor and offers a powerful and refreshed look with attractive new design elements. The new version of Tygan has a sharp design and premium features. Suited to the varied conditions of Indian roads, the vehicle retains Volkswagen’s DNA of European driving dynamics, superior comfort and uncompromising 5-star safety.

Since its debut in 2021, the Volkswagen Tigun has established itself as a reliable SUV in India as well as in the global market thanks to its dynamic performance, excellent comfort and robust safety. So far more than 1,43,000 units have been produced in India and about 30 percent of them have been exported. Now with the launch of the new Tigon, Volkswagen’s SUV portfolio will get even stronger. The new Tygan will offer a refreshing experience to the customers with the perfect blend of design, utility, comfort and performance.
