Comedian Samay Raina has finally broken his silence in a way fans were waiting for. In his latest stand-up special, Still Alive, he not only revisits the controversy around his show India’s Got Latent but also drops a strong hint about its possible return. The announcement, though not formal, has been enough to get people talking about Season 2 again.

A comeback with mixed emotions

After months of staying away following the backlash in 2025, Samay is back performing live and putting content out again. His special shows a different side of him at times. While much of it is humour, there are also moments where things get heavy.

Talking about the aftermath of the controversy, he recalled how things unfolded behind the scenes. He said, “Balraj Ghai's parents were begging the Mumbai police to let them go when they arrived at Habitat to take action following the India's Got Latent controversy. I was overwhelmed after watching that footage. I just kept crying.”

He also spoke about how sudden and confusing everything felt back then. “We were both extremely unsettled. How would we navigate this? It was terrifying. We were lost as to what was happening.”

When things got personal

One of the more emotional parts of the show came when he spoke about his family. He admitted it was hard to even face his mother during that time.

Samay shared, “At that instant, the most challenging thing was when my video call came in. I hesitated to answer her call and show my tear-streaked face. How would she react? My mom is unaware of anything except how to love.”

The comedian also added a small, personal memory about her, saying she once messaged people individually to tell them about his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati, instead of using broadcast features. That detail stood out because it showed how disconnected his real life was from the online storm.

India’s Got Latent Season 2 hint leaves fans curious

The biggest takeaway from the special, however, was his comment on the future of India’s Got Latent. While wrapping up, Samay made it clear that he feels Season 1 ended at the right moment, saying, “I don’t think my show could have ended at a higher point.”

At the same time, he confirmed he isn’t done with it. “I will bring back the show because it used to be fun making it.”

He also spoke about wanting to make it even more raw and unfiltered going forward, hinting that the next version could be very different from what audiences saw earlier.

There is no official release date yet, but his statement strongly suggests that India’s Got Latent Season 2 is in the works and could return on YouTube.

What exactly happened earlier

For context, the controversy dates back to February 2025 when creators like Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani appeared on India’s Got Latent. A question asked during the episode triggered outrage, leading to multiple FIRs and widespread criticism online.

After that, Samay removed all episodes of the show from YouTube. Others involved also faced backlash in different forms, from criticism to threats.

Later, in a promotional video, Samay admitted his regret over not editing out a particular moment. He said, “Kai baar unwanted cheezein reh jaati hai life mein... jisko baad mein dekhke regret karte ho ke kaash maine uss time yeh kat diya hota... par bahut der ho gai hoti hai.”
