A unique strategy of election campaign was seen in East Burdwan on Tuesday. BJP candidate Raju Patra, who came to file nomination riding on a bulldozer, attracted everyone’s attention.
He claimed that inspired by the ‘Bulldozer Model’ of Uttar Pradesh, ‘Bulldozer Raj’ will be implemented in West Bengal to curb crimes like murder, rape and extortion.

On Tuesday, vigorous preparations were made for the nomination program of BJP candidate in East Burdwan district. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was present as the chief guest.
On this day, candidates from Galsi, Ausgram, Burdwan North, Burdwan South and Bhatar constituencies gathered at Burdwan Railway Station to file nominations.
On the other hand, candidates from Memari, Khandaghosh, Jamalpur and Raina constituencies also joined the procession from Barnilpur intersection.
The processions coming from both directions met at the Curzon Gate, an important point of the city. From there the candidates left together to file nominations.
The first phase of voting in Bengal will be held on April 23, in which 152 seats will go to polls, while the second phase of voting will be held on April 29, in which 142 seats will go to polls.
The results of the assembly elections will be declared on May 4.
