Rajasthan Royals made an immediate impact as they opened their 3rd match of IPL 2026 against Mumbai Indians with the bat. The RR openers, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal, punished the MI bowlers in the first 3 overs to break a host of records, even with rain restricting the match to 11 overs per side.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is known for his explosive batting, was the driving force behind most of these records, the left-handed batsman was part of the fastest 50 in IPL history after scoring it in 13 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023. In this match, the first 3 overs saw a host of new records for the RR outfit, and indeed the entire IPL.
