There is good news for passengers traveling by train. Now, trains will be able to complete their maintenance quickly upon reaching a station and be ready for their return journey. Consequently, passengers will no longer have to endure long waits for their trains. North Western Railway is working in "mission mode" to enhance its rail operational capacity and further improve train maintenance standards.

According to Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, there are currently a total of twenty-two pit lines within its jurisdiction, which are utilized for the primary maintenance of trains. Frequently, delays in train departures occurred due to a lack of timely maintenance, causing inconvenience to passengers. To resolve this issue, the Railway has initiated the construction of twenty new pit lines. These new pit lines are being established at various stations across the region.

**Expansion of Pit Lines**

These additions include one pit line at Madar, two at Umra, four at Lalgarh, two at Sri Ganganagar, two at Hisar, two at Suratgarh, four at Khatipura, one at Barmer, and two at Jaisalmer. Once these new pit lines are completed, North Western Railway's maintenance capacity will nearly double. This will enable much faster train maintenance, allowing trains to be ready for their return journey within just a few hours of arriving at a station.

According to the Chief Public Relations Officer, this expansion will facilitate the introduction of new train services. This will not only ensure the availability of timely and improved train services for passengers but also boost the socio-economic development of the region. North Western Railway is monitoring this entire project at a high level to ensure its timely completion. This initiative is expected to prove particularly beneficial for passengers traveling on long-distance trains.
