The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) has provided a final opportunity for students appearing in the 2026 High School and Intermediate examinations to rectify errors in their academic details. Issuing clear directives, the Board has stated that all types of errors must be corrected, without exception, by April 10, 2026.
Providing this information, Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh noted that guidelines regarding corrections to candidates' names, parents' names, subject choices, and gender codes had been issued previously as well. Despite this, errors are still being detected in the details of many students, which remains a matter of concern.
Specifically, discrepancies have surfaced in the records of numerous students due to incorrect Hindi transliterations of names originally recorded in English. In such instances, if corrections are not made in a timely manner, students may face difficulties regarding their certificates and other official documents in the future.
**Correction of Errors Mandatory by April 10**
The UP Board has issued strict instructions to the principals of schools across all districts to conduct a thorough verification of the details of every student in their respective institutions. They have been mandated to rectify any errors found by April 10, 2026, and to submit the corrected details to the relevant regional offices.
**Schools Required to Submit a Certificate of Verification**
Furthermore, a directive has been issued requiring every school to submit a certificate affirming that—within their district—the details of all students appearing in the 2026 examinations are now entirely free of errors. Emphasizing the need to treat this task with the utmost seriousness, the Board has warned that any form of negligence or laxity will not be tolerated. Failure to complete this task within the stipulated deadline may result in disciplinary action being taken against the concerned officials and the school administration.
