As he stepped on stage, Grover kicked things off with a light-hearted apology aimed at Akhtar, saying, “Bhayi maaf kijiyega. Main aapse keh raha hoon sir. Maaf kijiyega (My apologies, sir. I’m saying this to you — please forgive me).”

He then effortlessly slipped into character, adding with a clever twist, “Main padhte padhte kitaab mein ghus gaya tha. Main hoon Javed Athatar,” playfully referencing the number 78 in Hindi and leaving the audience in splits.

He then turned toward Javed Akhtar, who was seated in the audience, and joked, “Aap kaunse number ke baithe hue hain sir? Main athattarve number ka Javed hoon,” sending the crowd into laughter. The camera caught Akhtar smiling, visibly enjoying the moment, while Raj Babbar, seated beside him, was seen laughing heartily.

Following this, Farah Khan joined Sunil Grover on stage and playfully addressed him as “Javed uncle,” adding to the fun, light-hearted vibe of the moment. The performance was widely appreciated and quickly became a talking point online.

Clips from the award show soon went viral, with social media users flooding the comments with praise. One Instagram user wrote, “AI ko bhi fail kr diya,” while another described him as an “anmol ratan (priceless gem).”
