The Delhi Capitals (DC) are gearing up for their second consecutive home game in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) as they face off against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 14 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, April 8. 

DC is riding high after a solid win against the Mumbai Indians in their last match. The 2020 finalists showcased their bowling skills, limiting their opponents to just 162 runs before comfortably chasing it down, largely thanks to Sameer Rizvi’s impressive 90, which led them to a six-wicket victory. 

On the flip side, GT is coming off a tough loss to the Rajasthan Royals. While chasing a hefty target of 210 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the 2022 champions seemed poised for victory but fell short by just four runs, unable to score the 11 runs needed in the final over. The Ahmedabad team is still searching for their first points of the season.

Last season, DC and GT clashed twice, with Shubman Gill’s squad coming out on top both times. One of those matches was particularly memorable, as GT secured a stunning 10-wicket win over DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In that game, the hosts set a challenging total of 199 runs, bolstered by KL Rahul’s first century with his new team. However, GT chased it down in just 19 overs without losing a wicket, with Sai Sudharsan scoring 108 and Gill adding 93. 

The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium has been quite favorable for batters. However, the last game played there posed some challenges for the team batting first, as the ball tended to stop during the first innings. That match was held in the afternoon, but with Wednesday's game taking place under the lights, we can expect the batsmen to have the upper hand once again.
