Bengaluru: The Cubbon Park police have registered a case against eight persons, including a software engineer, for allegedly selling IPL match tickets in the black market ahead of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.
Those booked include software engineer Satish, his friend Satyanarayana, and others identified as Jagadish, Harsha, Vinay, Shahid, Likhith and Puneeth.
Police said notices have been issued to all the accused, directing them to appear for questioning.
According to the police, Satish had initially purchased the IPL tickets online.
He later shared the booking link with Satyanarayana, which was then passed on to Jagadish and subsequently circulated among the others.
However, four of the accused allegedly came near the stadium just a few hours before the match and were selling the tickets at inflated prices.
CCB police, who noticed the alleged black market sale, caught the accused red-handed and took them into custody.
A case has been registered at the Cubbon Park police station, and further investigation is underway.
