Hybrid MPV: Big news is coming out about Japanese automobile company Toyota’s popular MPV Toyota Innova Crysta. According to media reports, this famous 7-seater can be removed from the Indian market by the beginning of 2027. Launched in 2016, this MPV has long been the first choice of both fleet operators and private customers.
Will Innova Crysta be discontinued?
According to reports, it may be challenging for companies to maintain vehicles with diesel engines and ladder-frame platforms due to the upcoming CAFE 3 (Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency) regulations. For this reason, Toyota is considering discontinuing this model by 2027.
What will be the alternative?
An affordable hybrid version of Toyota Innova Hycross can be offered by the company as its alternative. This change reflects the company’s increasing focus on hybrid and fuel-efficient vehicles.
Features and Comfort
Toyota Innova Crysta is known for its premium features. It has features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, TFT multi-information display and 8-way electric adjustable driver seat. Apart from this, automatic climate control and ambient lighting also make it comfortable.
Safety and performance
In terms of safety, it has been provided with features like 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Start Assist (HAC) and ABS with EBD. Talking about performance, it has a 2.4-litre diesel engine, which generates power of 150 PS and torque of 343 Nm. This engine comes with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
Changing auto trend is a big reason
The potential plan to discontinue the Toyota Innova Crysta signals that the auto industry is rapidly moving away from diesel and towards hybrid and fuel-efficient technologies. Such changes may become more rapid in the coming times.
