Voting means fighting for innovative campaigns. But this time a completely different dimension was added to that campaign by Congress candidate from Nalhati center of Birbhum, Dr. Abdul Karim. Apart from going door to door and seeking votes, he is also seeing patients and writing prescriptions – which is already the focus of his practice.

This month, 23rd April first phase and 29th April second phase assembly elections. The first phase of voting will be held in 11 seats of Birbhum district. Meanwhile, candidates of all parties have submitted their nominations and started campaigning in full swing.
New wonders, medical tools in promotion
Generally, various innovative initiatives of the candidates are seen in the election campaign – sometimes working in the field, sometimes driving a vehicle. But the Congress candidate from Nalhati broke that rule and used medicine as a medium of his campaign.
Visiting patients from door to door, taking prescriptions with them
Abdul Karim goes to every house in the village and first of all checks the physical condition of the people. When someone talked about illness, he immediately assumed the role of a doctor. Not just advice, writing prescription.
Candidate and doctor – equally active in both roles
On one hand he is a candidate from the Assembly Centre, on the other an experienced doctor. By using these two identities together, he is campaigning from morning till evening, which is creating a different response among the common people.
Political sarcasm has started
Opponents should stop criticizing this innovative campaign. BJP candidate Anil Singh claimed, “Such a service is seen only at the time of elections, and is not found later.” As a result, political pressure increased around this initiative.
Congress candidate for Birbhum’s Nalhati Assembly, Dr Abdul Karim, is campaigning and seeing patients for free and giving prescriptions. As much as praise has started around this extraordinary campaign, political sarcasm has also started.
