Houston: Astronauts of American space agency NASA’s Artemis-2 mission left the back side of the Moon on Monday night and headed towards Earth. During this, he saw that part of the Moon which had never been seen so closely before and also created a new record for covering the greatest distance around the Moon in human history. This journey of about seven hours was the most special part of this mission.

For the first time since the Apollo space program, NASA sent humans to the Moon again. There are three American and one Canadian astronauts in this mission. Its goal is to send humans near the south pole of the Moon in the next two years. Artemis-2 broke the old record of Apollo 13. In the year 1970, a distance of 4,00,171 kilometers was covered in the Apollo 13 mission, which has been crossed under the Artemis-2 mission.

Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen said, “What is visible from the Moon with the naked eye, without any equipment, is thrilling. It is incredible.” He said that the next generation should break this record soon. Soon after breaking the record, the astronauts asked for permission to name two new craters on the Moon. He proposed naming one ‘Integrity’ after his capsule and the other ‘Carol’ in memory of Commander Reed Wiseman’s wife, who died of cancer in 2020. During this, Wiseman became emotional and cried. All four astronauts hugged each other. Wiseman later said, “The view from here is spectacular.”

The astronauts reported that they captured both the Moon and the Earth in a single photograph and continued to provide information to scientists in Houston. Pilot Victor Glover said that some hills looked so shiny, as if there was snow on them.
