2025 was an interesting year for car manufacturers, and so far, it looks like 2026 is not going to be any different. Like most markets, SUVs are dominating in our market too, and even within SUVs, the mid-size SUV segment has been growing aggressively.

In the first three months of 2026, we have seen several launches of new and updated products in the mid-size SUV segment. Here, we have a list of mid-size SUVs that have launched so far and those that are set to launch this year.

Tata launched the Sierra towards the end of 2025, but official deliveries only started in January this year. Tata has delivered over 20,000 units of the Sierra since then. The Sierra is available with several premium features, including a panoramic sunroof, premium speaker system, triple touchscreen infotainment display, seat ventilation, memory function, and more.

The Sierra is available with a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine, with manual, DCA, and automatic transmission options. Prices for the Sierra start at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 21.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Kia launched the new-generation Seltos this year, and it is based on the new K3 platform. It has grown in size, and the exterior design is entirely different from the older version. It looks futuristic and is feature-loaded as well. It is available with a variety of petrol and diesel engine options and comes with manual, iMT, DCT, and IVT gearbox options.

It is offered with premium features like Level 2 ADAS, seat ventilation, automatic climate control, memory seats, and more. The Kia Seltos has been doing well in terms of sales and has consistently been clocking over 10,000 units every month. Prices for the Seltos start at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

After the Sierra, Tata finally launched their popular mid-size SUV, the Harrier, with a petrol engine. The SUV uses the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine developed by Tata. Compared to the Sierra, this engine generates more power and is also available with a 6-speed manual transmission. It comes loaded with all the features already available in the Harrier and more, including memory seats.

Another mid-size SUV that received an update this year is the Skoda Kushaq. The official unveiling happened in January, but the price announcement came only recently. Skoda has done a great job with pricing, as they are offering tough competition to rivals by introducing a well-loaded entry-level variant at Rs 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries for the Kushaq will start soon.

After the Sierra, another brand made a comeback to the Indian market. Renault, as part of its new strategy, relaunched the Duster. In its new avatar, the Duster has received an overwhelming response. In fact, bookings started even before the official price announcement, and Renault has already announced that the SUV is sold out for 2026.

It is currently available with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine with a manual transmission and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine with manual and DCT gearbox options.

The first SUV on this list is the Taigun facelift. The official launch is scheduled for 9th April. Teaser images and videos are already available online, and we have a fair idea of what to expect.

It will come with revised headlamps, grille, a connecting LED bar, revised tail lamps, a revised bumper, a panoramic sunroof, a larger driver display, a wireless phone charger, electric seats, rear seat massager, seat ventilation, and more.

It will be offered with the same 1.0-litre TSI engine with manual and 8-speed automatic transmission, and a 1.5-litre TSI engine with a 7-speed DSG. Like the Skoda Kushaq, the Taigun is also expected to be launched at an aggressive price.

After the petrol and diesel versions of the Sierra, Tata is now preparing to launch the electric version in the market. Tata has been testing the Sierra EV for quite some time, and as per reports, the official launch is expected in the second quarter of 2026.

It will have a similar design to the ICE version, with EV-specific changes like different alloy wheels, a closed grille, and a revised bumper. It will be offered with the same 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs as the Harrier EV and will come with 2WD and QWD options. Like most Tata EVs, the Sierra EV will also be priced aggressively and positioned below the Harrier EV.

After the Duster, Nissan will also launch its version of the SUV, called the Tekton, in the Indian market. This mid-size SUV has been undergoing tests alongside the Duster for quite some time.

It will feature a Nissan Patrol-inspired exterior design, along with a different-looking cabin and similar features to the Duster. Mechanically, the Tekton will remain the same as the Duster and will be offered with 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine options.

The Nissan Tekton is an extremely important product for the brand, as it could determine the future of Nissan in the Indian market.

Renault has currently launched the Duster with two engine options. The third option will be a 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol engine. Renault claims that this system is so efficient that the SUV can be driven in EV mode up to 80 percent of the time in city conditions. It comes with a 1.4 kWh battery pack to support this functionality.

Bookings for the hybrid variant have already begun, and Renault has revealed that close to 40 percent of bookings from metro cities are for the hybrid version. It produces around 160 PS combined and is expected to launch around the festive season this year.

Nissan is also likely to follow a similar strategy with the Tekton SUV. The brand is expected to launch the non-hybrid turbo petrol variants first and introduce the hybrid version around six months later. The Tekton hybrid will use the same engine and hybrid technology as the Duster hybrid.
