India Post GDS Result 2026: What are the Duties of a Dak Sevak?
The duties of Dak Sevaks include the sale of postage stamps and stationery, as well as the door-to-door delivery and distribution of mail.
They handle IPPB (India Post Payments Bank) deposits, payments, and other transactions, in addition to performing other tasks assigned by the Postmaster or Sub-Postmaster.

Dak Sevaks may also be required to work in the sorting offices of the Railway Mail Service (RMS).
Furthermore, they are responsible for the receipt and dispatch of mail bags, as well as the transshipment of these bags.
Additionally, Dak Sevaks assist the Postmaster or Sub-Postmaster in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of departmental post offices.
