On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) initiated a two-day series of organizational meetings in Mandi, gathering prominent state leaders, senior officials, and representatives from essential party divisions. This event coincided with the party's Foundation Day celebrations throughout Himachal Pradesh, featuring activities at the booth level.
The focus of these meetings is to enhance the party's grassroots structure, particularly at the booth level, while also advancing training initiatives, promoting the SIR campaign within assembly segments, and gearing up for the forthcoming Panchayati Raj and urban local body elections. Discussions are also addressing the current political landscape and strategizing for future outreach efforts.
The state office bearers' meeting took place on April 6, involving conveners from various cells, along with representatives from media, social media, and IT departments. The state executive meeting scheduled for April 7 aims to finalize crucial resolutions and outline a comprehensive plan for upcoming political and organizational activities, including the expansion of cells at the mandal level.
As part of the Foundation Day festivities, senior leaders were assigned to various booth-level events across the district. BJP National Vice President Saudan Singh participated in a program at Booth No. 81 in Palace Colony-II, Ward No. 09, San Mohalla in Mandi. Other notable leaders included Shrikant Sharma at the Sundernagar district office, Sanjay Tandon at Booth No. 48 in Nachan (Chambi), Dr. Rajeev Bindal at Booth No. 65 in Balh, Jai Ram Thakur at Booth No. 62 in Drang, and Organization General Secretary Siddharthan at Booth No. 74 in Drang. Senior officials like Bihari Sharma also took part in various events.
While addressing party members, Saudan Singh emphasized that the BJP transcends being a mere political entity; it represents an ideological movement dedicated to nation-building. He highlighted the party's growth since its establishment on April 6, 1980, into the largest political organization globally, attributing this success to the commitment of its members.
He underscored the principle of Antyodaya, affirming the party's dedication to ensuring that development reaches every individual. Citing initiatives led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he mentioned programs like Digital India, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which have significantly enhanced the quality of life for many.
Singh regarded party workers as the foundation of the organization, reminiscing about the BJP's evolution from merely two seats in 1984 to its current stature, crediting this transformation to persistent grassroots efforts and public confidence. He urged workers to fortify the party's presence by disseminating its message to every village and booth.
Foundation Day celebrations unfolded across the district, with participation from party leaders, officials, and numerous local residents, aligning with the ongoing organizational meetings that are anticipated to influence the BJP's strategy in the state ahead of the upcoming elections.
