Even though it's now well into April and spring has officially arrived, the snowfall shows no sign of easing, with the Met Office naming parts of the UK that could still see snow. It was only a couple of weeks ago on March 18 that the UK basked in the hottest day of the year with Gogerddan, West Wales, recording a temperature of a warm 20.9C.
Large groups gathered outside pubs in central London on Wednesday, enjoying the sunshine during their lunch break, while others left their desks behind to have their sandwiches in the park. However, winter is forecast to make a dramatic U-turn with the Met Office forecasting snow in its new 10-day forecast. The weather agency warns that from Friday, April 10 to 19, the UK will experience "changeable" weather conditions with Atlantic frontal systems moving across the UK at times.
These will bring spells of unsettled weather, with showers or longer spells of rain and a risk of strong winds.
Many will be hoping the past few days marked the end of the powerful gusts, after Storm Dave caused widespread disruption across large parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, gusts hit 93mph at Capel Curig in North Wales, while winds reached 75mph at Emley Moor in West Yorkshire and St Bees Head in Cumbria, with a further gust of 73mph recorded at Buchan in Aberdeenshire.
The weather agency goes on to say that "the wettest conditions will probably be in the northwest of the UK" between April 10 and 19 and then goes onto the pinpoint where you could see snow.
Those who are at risk of seeing snow are those "on high ground in the north".
Meanwhile, drier and brighter interludes with lighter winds will develop between frontal systems.
A Met Office spokesperson added: "Temperatures are expected to be close to average overall, perhaps with some colder spells in the north and warmer conditions in the south at times."
For Easter Monday that Met Office predicts that it should feel warm for many with "plenty of sunny spells through the day, though cloudier skies at times in the west". "A few splashes of rain possible for Northern Ireland and northwest Scotland. Breezy in the west".
