UGC NET Dec 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the revised final answer key for the UGC NET December 2025 examination. This step was taken following a strict directive from the Delhi High Court. This court order has brought relief to thousands of students who had long been struggling to get errors in the answer key rectified.
However, the revised final answer key has not been released for all subjects; it has been issued only for History, Economics, Education, Commerce, and Hindi. The revised results for these five subjects could be released at any moment.
**The Controversy Began with History**
The controversy surrounding the UGC NET December 2025 examination originated with the History subject. Approximately 60,777 candidates appeared for the History examination during the December session. The UGC NET results were declared on February 4. Following the results, students alleged that the answers to at least nine questions had been marked incorrectly.
**No Changes Made Even After Objections Were Filed**
Students filed formal objections backed by substantial evidence. Despite this, no changes were made to the final answer key released on February 4. Subsequently, students' anger erupted on social media, and the matter eventually reached the courts.
**4 Questions Dropped; 3 Questions Have Two Correct Answers**
In the revised final answer key released by the NTA following the Delhi High Court's intervention, four questions have been dropped (removed). Additionally, for three specific questions, two options have been accepted as correct answers.
**Changes Also Made in Other Subjects, Including Commerce**
The NTA has also made corrections in the Commerce subject, the examination for which was held on January 3 during the first shift. In the revised final answer key for Commerce, three questions have been dropped, and for one question, two answer options have been accepted as correct.
**Benefit of Dropped Questions Extended to All**
All candidates who appeared for the examination during the specific shifts in which questions were dropped will be awarded marks for those questions. This is expected to lead to significant changes in the merit list and the cutoff scores.
