Fake Allegations Against Congress Riniki Bhuyan Sarma Exposed

Just four days before the Assam Assembly elections, the political atmosphere heated up when Congress leader Pawan Kheda accused Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma of holding a foreign passport. In a press conference held in Delhi, Kheda claimed that Riniki Bhuyan Sarma holds passports of UAE, Egypt and Antigua-Barbuda and also presented fake documents of the same.

However, the Chief Minister and his wife have vehemently rejected these allegations, calling them malicious, fabricated and politically motivated lies. They also clarified that they will file criminal and civil defamation cases against Kheda.

The controversy deepened when several serious discrepancies came to light in the documents presented by the Congress. The party showed a purported UAE Golden Visa card with the name Riniki Bhuyemiyan Sarma written on it, which in itself is suspicious. The investigation also revealed that the ID number on the document did not match the year of birth and the nationality was also entered incorrectly in the machine-readable zone.

Now a big revelation has come to light in this matter. It has emerged that the document shown by the Congress was actually a morphed photo of a lost Emirates ID card of a Pakistani national. In the Facebook group “Pakistani in Ajman” on March 28, a man named Tipu Sultan shared information about his lost documents, which also included a photo of his Emirates ID card.

The number of this ID card is 784-1996-5557498-8, the same number that the Congress leader showed as the UAE passport of Riniki Bhuyan Sharma. The original document lists the date of birth as 10 July 1996, which matches the second part of the ID number.

Comparative analysis found that Congress changed the name in the original document from “Ashraf Abdelkader Abdelsamad Hussein” to “Riniki Bhuyan Sarma”, and also changed the date of birth, issue and expiry date. However, the ID number was not changed, exposing the fraud. Not only this, the nationality was also allowed to remain “Egyptian”.

BJP leader and Assam minister Piyush Hazarika reacted to this and wrote on social media platform

According to experts, UAE’s Emirates ID number is a unique 15-digit number, which is linked to a person’s biometric records and never changes. It is not possible to use the same number in different documents, which makes it clear that the document was prepared fraudulently.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “I completely reject every allegation made by him. These are ill-conceived, fabricated and politically motivated lies aimed at misleading the people of Assam.” He warned that the culprits will have to face consequences under the law once the truth comes out in the court.

Riniki Bhuyan Sarma also reacted sharply, saying that she expected a national party spokesperson to follow basic due diligence and not spread imaginary pictures of fake passports. She said, “Now I will let the law take its course. Criminal charges are being filed. We can continue this in court.”
