Delhi Metro Timings: If you are planning to travel by Delhi Metro in the coming days, then this information is very important for you. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to make temporary changes in the timings of metro services on Sunday, April 5, 2026. This change is being made due to a special event PNB Soldierathon 2026.
This event is going to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where a large number of people are expected to attend. Keeping this crowd in mind, it has been decided to start the metro timings earlier, so that people do not face any problem in commuting.
When will the metro start running?
According to DMRC, Delhi Metro will start its services from 3 am on April 5, 2026. Usually the metro starts a little late on Sundays, but on this special day, it is being started earlier for the convenience of passengers.
On which lines will the timing change?
This change has not been made on all metro lines, but will be applicable only on some main routes. These routes are:
- Delhi Metro Yellow Line: Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Center (Gurugram)
- Delhi Metro Blue Line: Dwarka Sector-21 / Dwarka to Noida Electronic City / Vaishali
- Delhi Metro Violet Line: Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh
Metro services on these three lines will be available from 3 am.
What will be the impact on other lines?
No changes have been made on all other metro lines. They will run as per normal Sunday timings. Therefore, if you are traveling by any other line apart from these three lines, then you should check the time in advance.
What is PNB Soldierathon 2026?
PNB Soldierathon 2026 is a half-marathon event, organized by Punjab National Bank. The main objective of this event is to honor the Indian Armed Forces and spread awareness about fitness among the people.
The theme of this event is “Run with Soldiers, Run for Soldiers”, i.e. run with the soldiers and run for them. In this, people can participate in two ways i.e. physical run (running on the ground) and virtual run (participating from home or your place). An effort is made to connect as many people as possible with this.
Important advice for travelers
If you are going to travel by metro on 5th April, then plan your journey in advance. Especially if you are traveling on the Yellow, Blue or Violet Line, you can avail the benefits of the metro from 3 am onwards. This will help you avoid crowds.
