Watch: Tim David's Huge Six Lands on Chinnaswamy Roof vs CSK
Cricket Gully | April 6, 2026 3:39 AM CST

Tim David slammed one of the biggest hits of the IPL 2026 in Match 11 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The Australian swatted and left the fans in awe as he sent the ball out of the stadium and on the roof.

Virat Kohli and Phil Salt provided a great start with the openers setting up the score in the first few overs. Devdutt Padikkal continued the run flow in the middle-overs and captain Rajat Patidar also chipped in with a blistering 48 from only 19 balls, but Tim David took over in the last few overs.

Tim David Destroys Overton in the 19th over

Jamie Overton bowled well for his first two overs where he gave away only 12 runs, but his final over was the undoing as Tim David hit him all over the ground, first smashing two fours and one six, and then followed up with four consecutive boundaries of 4,6,6,6.

The last six hit by David was an astounding shot as he mashed a short delivery straight over the deep square leg and the ball sailed high into the stadium roof, not coming out to a huge reception from the fans. David acknowledged the six with a raised finger as the umpire would, as he knew it was a monumental hit, probably the largest six of IPL 2026 to date as no footage had confirmed it yet.

David remained unbeaten at 70 from 25 balls with 8 sixes and 3 fours at a strike rate of 280 and hit two sets of 3 consecutive sixes, first against Noor Ahmad and then against Overton as well. RCB ended their innings on 250/3.

CSK floundering despite quick start

Chasing 251 runs, CSK lost both of their opening batters early as captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson were both dismissed cheaply. Ayush Mhatre also had a disappointing outing after scoring only one run in three balls.

Sarfaraz Khan started strong by smashing a quickfire 50 off 25 balls with eight fours and two sixes but the wickets kept falling at the other end and at the time of writing, CSK were on 165/6 after 15 overs and it is a big task for them to get past RCB's mammoth total.
