Besides this, he also had problem in hearing. At the age of 35, he took a decision which surprised even his family members. Even though his children were young, he decided to start preparing for UPSC. Although it was not easy. She used to do job and household work during the day. After this she used to study at night. His daily routine was very difficult. But in all this his daughters Nandana and Thanvi became his strength. Her husband Arun and family also fully supported her.

Faced many problems, did not give up

For Nisa, hearing problem was a big challenge for her. Despite this, Nisa did not give up and kept working hard. Even after failing several times, he continued trying. She took the exam 6 times and could not succeed in it, but Nisa had the passion to achieve something. Finally, in his seventh attempt he cleared the UPSC exam 2024 and secured almost 1000th rank. This was the result of his hard work and courage.

Took inspiration from Sub-Collector Ranjit

Nisa Unnirajan had told in the interview that she took guidance from a coaching center in Thiruvananthapuram. Inspirational stories and motivational videos of successful UPSC candidates became their real inspiration. He adopted a different method of studying, and that method worked for him. He took inspiration from Kottayam sub-collector Ranjeet, who himself had struggled with the same challenge and succeeded.
