Two criminal cases pending against TVK chief Vijay, movable assets worth around Rs 600 crore, revealed in election affidavit.

TVK Chief Vijay’s Election Affidavit: Tamil Nadu Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and veteran actor Vijay’s party has fielded candidates on all 234 assembly seats in the Tamil Nadu elections. Vijay is trying his luck in this election from two seats – Perambur and Trichy East and he has won ‘C. Had announced to file his nomination in the name of ‘Joseph Vijay’. At the same time, in a new affidavit submitted by the TVK chief before the Returning Officer for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections to be held on April 23, two pending FIRs have been mentioned.

TVK chief Vijay had earlier stated in the election affidavit that no criminal case was pending against him. According to media reports, sources said that this new affidavit, notarized on April 3, was submitted by a representative of the TVK chief on April 4. It mentions two cases from Chennai and Madurai, which were not included in the previous document certified by a notary on March 30. In the new affidavit, actor Vijay has revealed FIR number 74/2026 registered at K5 Peravallur police station, Chennai. This FIR was registered on March 30 for allegedly disturbing public peace during the election campaign.

Vijay has stated in the affidavit that he came to know about this matter through social media on April 2. The second FIR, number 108 of 2025, has been registered at Koodakovil police station in Madurai district regarding the incident that took place during a party conference on August 21, 2025. The complainant has alleged that the bouncers pushed him and injured him when he tried to approach the leader during the ramp walk. However, Vijay said that he has not yet received any formal summons in this matter. On one hand, there were some changes in the criminal record part.

On the other hand, Vijay’s financial declarations in both the filings remained almost the same. According to the new election affidavit, the value of TVK chief Vijay’s movable assets is around Rs 410.59 crore, while earlier it was declared Rs 404.58 crore. This includes silver items worth Rs 15 lakh and 883 grams of gold jewellery, whose value is estimated to be more than Rs 1.20 crore.

The total current market value of Vijay’s immovable properties, including his commercial and residential buildings at places like Neelankarai and Saligramam, is estimated to be around Rs 220.15 crore. The TVK leader has declared a total income of Rs 184.53 crore for the financial year 2024-2025. He also mentioned outstanding income tax demands of approximately Rs 3.44 crore for several assessment years, which are currently under appeal.

Let us tell you that Vijay is contesting from Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East assembly seats. He filed his first nomination for the Perambur Assembly seat on 30 March. Subsequently, he filed his nomination for the Trichy East seat on 2 April. The new affidavit submitted in Perambur on April 4 was a supplementary document intended to resolve the discrepancies between the initial declaration made in Perambur and the subsequent declaration filed in Tiruchirappalli East. This revised document ensures that the TVK chief is fully complying with the Election Commission’s rules regarding reporting of all pending criminal cases.
