This year, Skoda and the Volkswagen Auto Group will be taking a product-offensive approach and have lined up a bunch of new models. Of these, four will be SUVs, and today we are presenting you with the list of what’s coming this year. So, without any more waste of time, here are the details of the four upcoming SUVs from Skoda and Volkswagen.
The first SUV on this list, which will be making its debut in India, will be the newly facelifted iteration of the already popular Taigun mid-size SUV. Like its cousin, the Skoda Kushaq, the Taigun will also be getting a bunch of exterior and interior design updates. It has been confirmed that it will be making its debut on April 9, and will be priced in the range of Rs 11 lakh to Rs 19 lakh.
As part of the upgrades, the new 2026 Taigun is expected to get a new grille, new sleeker LED headlights and DRLs, an updated front bumper, and connecting LED DRLs along with an illuminated front VW logo. It will also be getting a set of new alloy wheels, new connected LED taillights, and a new rear bumper.

Additionally, the SUV will also be getting features such as a panoramic sunroof, seat ventilation, rear massaging seats, and a new 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster. Powertrain options of the 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre will remain the same. However, the 1.0-litre model will now be getting an 8-speed automatic gearbox instead of the 6-speed, and the 1.5-litre TSI will only be offered with the 7-speed DSG gearbox.
Once launched, the new Volkswagen Taigun facelift will take on the newly launched Renault Duster, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq facelift, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the Citroen Aircross.

To entice high-performance SUV lovers, Skoda Auto has confirmed that around May–June of this year it will be launching the sportier Kodiaq RS in the country. This SUV will be priced in the Rs 55–60 lakh range and will serve as the flagship performance SUV from Skoda in India. The main highlight of this SUV will be its 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine.
This motor will be capable of producing 265 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. As for the gearbox, it will come equipped with the 7-speed DSG, and an AWD system will be standard. This SUV will achieve the speed of 100 from a standstill in just 6.3 seconds and will have an electronically limited top speed of 231 kmph. Notable upgrades will include adaptive suspension, upgraded brakes, 20-inch alloy wheels with red calipers, and RS badging inside and out.

A lot of people who have owned the diesel Kodiaq are demanding that the new-generation model be offered with the mighty diesel engine. Hence, later this year, Skoda will be bringing back the Kodiaq diesel in India. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 40–45 lakh and will be brought in via the CBU route.
Powering the Skoda Kodiaq diesel will be the time-tested 2.0-litre TDI diesel motor. It will be capable of making around 190 to 200 bhp and will also make a peak torque of 360 to 400 Nm. Transmission duties will be handled by the 7-speed DSG gearbox, and it will also get an AWD system. This SUV will rival the Toyota Fortuner, MG Majestor, Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, and others.

Last on this list is the Volkswagen Tayron’s standard model. This non-R-Line version will be a toned-down, lower-spec version of the current model and will boast a slightly less aggressive and sporty design. It is also expected to get fewer premium features and make the Tayron more accessible to buyers. This SUV will also be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. However, it will be slightly detuned and make less power and torque. Pricing of the Tayron non-R-Line will be around Rs 40–45 lakh, and it will be making its debut later this year.
