New Delhi: Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble ends have been officially unveiled at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium ahead of the IPL 2026 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings. The ends were officially unveiled at a ceremony attended by their family members.
Venkatesh Prasad, who is the Karnataka State Cricket Association president and also their long-time teammate, oversaw the official unveiling ceremony along with vice-president Sujith Somasundar and other association officials.
Dravid, Kumble ends unveiled at M Chinnaswamy Stadium
The KSCA had announced earlier that Dravid, Kumble and Indian women cricketer Shanta Rangaswamy will have ends and stands named after them at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Dravid has scored 24208 runs in international cricket, and Kumble has picked up 956 wickets. The pavilion end at the venue was renamed after Kumble, and the old BEML end was renamed after Dravid.

Kumble said that it’s a place that has given him everything, and he can never be grateful enough for what the KSCA and this venue have given him in his life.
“It’s been a second home to me. It’s been a place where we’ve probably spent more time than we have in our houses. But it’s also a place that has truly given me everything I am today. I can never be grateful enough for what the KSCA and this great, iconic ground have given me in my life,” Kumble said.
David said that he’s thankful to Venkatesh Prasad and his committee and it means a lot to him.
“I’m truly thankful that Venkatesh Prasad and his committee have decided to name an end after me. It means a lot. I know this would mean a lot to my family as well,” Rahul Dravid had said.
Rahul’s mother, Pushpa Dravid and brother Vijay attended the grand occasion. Kumble’s wife Chetana, son Mayas and daughters Aaruni and Swasthi were also present.
