Global Tech Threat: The situation in the Middle East seems to be deteriorating rapidly and this may impact the technology industry around the world. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a big statement regarding big American tech companies, which has increased concern globally.
Direct threat given to tech companies
Iran’s multi-service force IRGC has clearly said that now big companies like Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp’s parent company Meta, Google and Apple are their target. The statement said that these companies are “responsible” for high-tech warfare. Due to which the leadership capacity of the country has been damaged. IRGC has warned the employees of these companies to vacate their offices immediately, which has created an atmosphere of fear in the area.
Attacks may start from 8 pm tonight
In a statement issued through Iran’s government news agency Tasnim (according to Al-Jazeera), it has been said that targeting of these American tech companies can be started from 8 pm (local time) on April 1. The military wing has asked people and employees living near the offices of these companies to immediately vacate the area, so that any possible damage can be avoided.
AI and high-tech warfare became the reason
IRGC says that now the war has moved beyond traditional means and tech companies are playing an important role in it. It is alleged that these companies are using Artificial Intelligence to identify targets, thereby promoting high-tech warfare. “From now on, these key institutions will be our real targets,” the statement said, according to Al-Jazeera.
More than 18 big companies in the hit list
According to AFP report, IRGC has included more than 18 high-profile companies in its hit list. Apart from Meta, Google, Apple, big companies like Boeing, Tesla, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, Palantir and Nvidia are included in it. This threat is said to be directly to the ongoing attacks led by Israel and supported by US Intelligence.
Iran’s warning that if the attack happens again, action will be taken
Iran has clearly said that if any other Iranian leader dies in targeted assassinations, then these attacks will start. It has also been alleged that the US government and tech companies have ignored their repeated warnings.
