Expressing serious concern over the ongoing war in Iran, former Union Law Minister Ashwini Kumar has said that the current situation is very complex and it is not in the power of any one country to end this conflict.

Speaking to news agency IANS, former Union Minister Ashwini Kumar said, “In such a situation, expecting any other country to end the war on its own is not practical. However, he praised India’s role and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for peace to all countries is a positive and commendable step.”

He said that India has tried to convey the message of peace on the global stage, which reflects its growing international credibility. The war has become an internationally complex one due to the direct involvement of major countries such as Iran, Israel and the United States.

The former minister also said that despite difficult circumstances, India has maintained balanced and strong relations with the three countries Iran, Israel and America. This is the reason that despite the current tension, supply of gas and petrol from Iran to India continues.

Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, he said that the supply of energy resources to India continues through this important sea route, which shows India’s diplomatic success.

Ashwini Kumar further said that if India is truly moving towards becoming a “Vishwaguru”, it will also have to emerge as a peace ambassador. He believes that India’s responsibility should not be limited to its own interests only, but it should also play an active role in establishing global peace.

At the same time, in response to a question on expectations from Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, he said that in such sensitive circumstances, the opposition should stand with the government. He said that political differences have their place, but national interest should be paramount.

He also added that the government has enough information and experience on important issues like the country’s foreign policy, so the opposition should support these decisions.

He said that it is not appropriate to accuse any government or Prime Minister of bad intentions, especially when the country is facing serious challenges at the international level. He stressed the need for India’s balanced diplomacy and internal political unity in the current global crisis.
