digital desk- Amidst the Kerala Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a huge public meeting in Tiruvalla on Saturday, launched a strong attack on the Congress and the Left. He said that Congress is making such statements that the countries of West Asia will start considering India as their enemy and the people of the country will have to bear the loss due to this. The Prime Minister said, “The Congress wants to spread panic in the Gulf countries and cause trouble to the Indians living there so that they get an opportunity to abuse me. But for me, the safety of the people of Kerala is above politics and I am fully committed to it.” While addressing the gathering, PM Modi also targeted the LDF government. He claimed that voting on April 9 and results on May 4 would bring an end to decades of “misgovernance”. He said that the wave of change is clearly visible in Kerala and for the first time NDA government is going to be formed.

Till now Kerala remained stuck between LDF and UDF- PM Modi

The Prime Minister said that till now Kerala has been stuck between LDF and UDF, but this time the public has made up its mind to oust both of them from power. He said, “I have come here before also, but this time the direction of the wind has changed. People want change and this crowd is proof of it.” Speaking on the issue of development, PM Modi said that Kerala is a state rich in natural resources and potential, but due to the policies of the present government, it has lagged behind in the race of development. Referring to the immense potential in sectors like blue economy, tourism and infrastructure, he said that Kerala can progress rapidly if given the right leadership.

Criticism of the actions of the state government

The Prime Minister also raised questions on the lack of basic facilities. He said that the roads in the state are bad, big bridges have not been constructed and the condition of medical colleges is also not satisfactory. He alleged that the LDF-UDF governments never worked seriously on these issues. During the meeting, PM Modi also mentioned Sabarimala and Lord Ayyappa and linked it to the cultural identity of Kerala. He said that the Sabarimala railway project is very important for the development of the region, but the state government has kept it on hold. He assured that all such obstacles will be removed if a “double engine government” is formed.
