digital desk- After a press conference held in Lucknow, the politics of Uttar Pradesh has once again heated up. Countering Akhilesh Yadav’s statement, Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar made sharp allegations against the Samajwadi Party (SP) and rejected its “PDA” (Backward, Dalit, Minority) formula. Rajbhar alleged that during the Lok Sabha elections, Akhilesh Yadav campaigned falsely on issues like abolishing the Constitution of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, which gave him political benefit. He said that now Dalits and backward classes have understood the “misleading politics” of SP and are keeping distance from it.
There used to be riots in the state during the SP government.
Taking aim at the previous SP regime, the Cabinet Minister said, “This is the same party which abolished reservation in the promotion of Dalits and changed the names of districts and universities named after them.” He also alleged that during the SP government, there used to be riots in the state, in which the Dalit community had to suffer the most. Rajbhar also raised serious questions on SP regarding law and order. He said that hooliganism was at its peak during the SP rule and the lands of Dalits were encroached upon. He claimed that at that time the government was dominated by a single caste, while even voting Muslims were marginalised.
No Muslim leader can claim share of PDA- OP Rajbhar
Rajbhar also gave a big statement regarding Muslim leadership. He said, “No Muslim leader in SP can claim that he is a part of PDA. Yadav became the Chief Minister four times, but was there ever any talk of making a Muslim Chief Minister?” Through this statement he raised questions on the so-called ‘inclusive politics’ of SP. Rajbhar also took a sharp jibe at the PDA alliance. He said that “the people involved in PDA are ‘fired cartridges’, who were earlier ignored by the SP and are now being brought together due to electoral needs.” Giving an example, he said that leaders like Ashu Malik were earlier expelled from the party, but now they are being given respect. In the same sequence, he also mentioned Ram Achal Rajbhar and alleged that those who were once humiliated by SP leaders on the streets, today the same people are included in the party. “Today, those who kick and those who feed are standing together,” Rajbhar said sarcastically.
