Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s statement in Sribhoomi, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Look… Rahul Gandhi means ‘Pappu’. People consider Gaurav Gogoi as ‘Chhota Pappu’. Those who are saying that they will arrest Himanta Biswa Sarma. Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul will have to take a new birth. This will not happen in this birth. So only after seven births, they will be able to spoil even the hair of Himanta Biswa Sarma.” At a public meeting held in Karbi Anglong, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday claimed that after the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will be sent to jail in corruption cases. Gandhi has described Sarma as “the most corrupt Chief Minister of India” and said that even the BJP top leadership will not be able to save him.

Rahul Gandhi had said – “The whole country knows – Himanta Biswa Sarma is the most corrupt Chief Minister of the country. Himanta is running Assam in collaboration with the syndicate. As soon as the Congress government comes to power in the state, Himanta will stand with folded hands. Himanta Biswa Sarma will be punished for every corruption.
