
Lucknow, 3 April. On the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 233 FIRs have been registered so far under the special campaign against black marketing of petrol, diesel and LPG in the state. During this period, 20 people have been arrested, while prosecution action is being taken against 237 accused. Commissioner of Food and Logistics Department said here on Friday that under this campaign which started from March 12, raids and inspections were conducted at 19,882 places across the state.
33 cases have been registered against LPG distributors, while 200 FIRs have been lodged against other persons involved in black marketing of gas. By running the action simultaneously in the entire state, black marketing has been effectively curbed. The Chief Minister has made it clear from various forums that strict action will be taken against those who create artificial crisis in the market by spreading rumours. In this sequence, the administration has increased surveillance and started tightening the noose on such elements.
The government has also ensured that there is no inconvenience to the general public during the action. The supply of petrol and diesel in the state remains completely normal. Regular sales are taking place through 12,888 petrol pumps in the state, while sales figures from March 28 to April 1 have also been at normal levels. At present, adequate stock of 97,000 kiloliter petrol and 1,26,000 kiloliter diesel is available in the state.
According to officials, continuous coordination is being done to maintain supply as per demand. The department is also alert regarding LPG supply. Strict instructions have been issued to 4,107 gas distributors of the state that immediate action will be taken if any irregularity is found. He said that a 24-hour control room has been activated at the state level to resolve complaints, while the district administration has also been instructed to remain continuously active in the field.
