The National Testing Agency has commenced the JEE Main Session-2 examination. The exam will be conducted across various examination centers throughout the country. Notably, approximately 11.23 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the JEE Main examination this time. The B.E./B.Tech examination is scheduled to be held on April 4, 5, 6, and 8, 2026, while the B.Arch/B.Planning (Paper-2) examination will be conducted on April 7. The examination will be held in two shifts: the first shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
**Four Rounds of Candidate Verification**
Candidates appearing for the JEE Main Session-2 examination will undergo a four-step verification process on the day of the exam. The first verification requires candidates to re-verify their left thumb impression and signature on the printout of their admit card. Following this, the second verification—involving both manual and biometric checks (photo and fingerprint)—will be conducted at the entrance gate. The third verification will involve an AI-based facial scan, along with the recording of the candidate's mother's name and signature on the attendance sheet. For the fourth verification, if any student needs to use the restroom during the exam, they will be required to undergo a biometric verification check once again upon their return.
**Aim to Arrive on Time**
All students appearing for the examination are advised to make every effort to reach the venue ahead of the scheduled time on the day of the exam. Specifically, candidates should arrive at the examination center one hour before the start time indicated on their admit card.
**Items Permitted at the Center**
Students appearing for the B.Arch Paper-2 are permitted to bring a geometry box, pencils, erasers, and crayons. Additionally, students may carry a transparent water bottle; diabetic students are permitted to bring sugar tablets and fruits.
**Strict Prohibition on These Items**
On the day of the examination, the bringing of water colors, watches, calculators, geometry sets (other than for B.Arch Paper-2), jewelry, and food or beverage items is strictly prohibited.
**Essential Documents**
On the day of the examination, all students must carry certain essential documents with them—specifically, their Admit Card, two passport-sized photographs, and a valid ID proof. Furthermore, if the live photograph taken at the venue does not match the photograph on the Aadhaar Card, it is mandatory to carry a certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer.
