Now the F1 campaign has entered it's unintentional break, the conversation is firmly on the new regulations. It was already a huge point of dicussion, but Oliver Bearman's terrifying crash at the Japanese GP has cast an even bigger spotlight on the regulations.
With the Saudi Arabian and Bahrain GP being cancelled, amid the conflict in the Middle East, the FIA will be using the time to gather F1 stakeholders to discuss steps forward, in regards to the new rules. It's since been said the WhatsApp group, which is filled with F1's biggest stars, has been "blowing up" every week, with the main topic of conversation being the controversial changes.
Max Verstappen has been so angry about them, the Dutchman even suggested he may retire as a result. In addition, Lewis Hamilton has also hit out at the FIA.
While drivers have been rallying against the rules, an untelevised clip of George Russell sarcastically lambasting his car and Mercedes team-mates emerged, a matter of days after he missed out on a podium finish.
The Brit could be heard swearing and being sarcastic over the team radio after he was informed a "bug" in the system of his car had caused him to lose power. Meanwhile, there have also been many comments made towards the building rivalry between Charles Leclerc and Hamilton at Ferrari.
Both drivers have started the new campaign well, but many also believe their evident competitiveness could work against the Prancing Horse. All of this and much more will be covered in today's F1 blog.
