Kolkata। On the controversy over voter list in West Bengal Supreme Court has clearly stated that submission of large number of Form-6 together is not an unusual phenomenon, this process has been seen earlier also. The court also said that if there is any objection to any name, a complaint can be lodged with the Election Commission.
TMC’s objection regarding Form-6
Trinamool Congress lawyer of Kalyan Banerjee Argued that a single person had submitted 30 thousand Form-6. Form-6 is used for adding name to the voter list or changing the parliamentary constituency. He said that even after the supplementary list comes, new forms are being accepted, which raises doubts on the process.
Supreme Court’s comment: This is not the first time
During the hearing, the court said that “this happens every time, there is nothing unusual in it.” The court also clarified that the option to lodge an objection to a new name is available and the parties concerned can approach the Election Commission.

Election Commission of India The lawyer said that as per the rules, names of voters can be added till the last date of nomination of candidates. If a person has recently turned 18, he or she has the right to enroll in the voter list.
Advice on understanding the court process
The Supreme Court said that it would not be appropriate to draw hasty conclusions on this issue and it is necessary to understand the entire process. Besides, it was also clarified that elections are held on the basis of the same list, which is updated till the stipulated date.
The court indicated that a decision on all objections would be taken by April 7.
