New Delhi. Bollywood’s famous playback singer Alka Yagnik has been suffering from Sensorineural Hearing Loss for some time. This news shocked his fans in the year 2024. Recently, while giving an update on her health in an interview, she emotionally said that she is still going through this problem and has not completely recovered.

Due to this illness, Alka Yagnik has distanced herself from recording new songs. Alka told that even today music composers approach her, but due to her condition she is not able to work. His magical voice was last heard in the song Naram Kalja from the film Amar Singh Chamkila. Recently the Government of India has also honored him with Padma Bhushan.
When Alka Yagnik talked about her hearing problem
The singer first informed about his health condition in 2024 through an emotional message shared on social media. He recalled the moment when he suddenly started having this problem during the journey. He wrote in his note that for all my fans, friends, followers and loved ones. A few weeks ago, when I got off a flight, I suddenly felt like I couldn’t hear anything.
She further said that after gathering courage in the few weeks since this incident, I now want to break my silence for all my friends and fans who have been asking me why I am nowhere to be seen these days. Doctors later diagnosed the problem as a rare nerve- hearing loss caused by a viral attack. She added, “My doctors diagnosed it as a rare sensorineural hearing loss caused by a viral attack. It was a huge shock that I was completely unprepared for.”

At the time, Alka also requested her fans to keep her in their prayers as she learns to cope with the problem. Additionally, the singer also warned fans about the dangers of prolonged exposure to loud noises, including headphones and listening to music at loud volumes.
