Bihar PM Modi Expresses Grief Over Nalanda Tragedy Announces Financial Assistance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday Expressed grief over the Shitala Mata temple accident in Nalanda, Bihar. He expressed condolences to the victims who lost their lives in this. Along with this, the Central Government also announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in this stampede and Rs 50 thousand to the injured.

Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) quoted PM Modi as saying, “The accident in Nalanda district of Bihar is extremely sad. I express my condolences to those who lost their loved ones in this accident. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh will be given to the families of each deceased and Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.”

Expressing grief over the accident, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh wrote on social media platform

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wrote in X Post, “The news of the death and injuries of devotees in the tragic incident of stampede at Shitala Mata Temple in Nalanda, Bihar is extremely painful. I express my deep condolences to the families of the deceased devotees and pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan also expressed grief over the accident and wrote, “The incident of stampede in Mata Shitala temple of Nalanda (Bihar) is extremely sad and painful. I express my condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in this accident. I also wish for the speedy recovery of all the injured persons.”

A major accident took place in the Maghada fair of Nalanda on Tuesday. Where seven people died in a sudden stampede in the temple of the famous Mata Shitala. The number of women among the dead is said to be higher. Expressing grief over the accident, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a compensation of Rs 6 lakh for the family of the deceased.
