Bank Holidays In April 2026 | The month of March is over and soon the month of April will begin. As April is the first month of the financial year, this month is very important for banks. But the month of April this year is full of holidays and banks will remain closed for a total of 14 days in various parts of the country. There are many long weekends in the month of April, including Saturday-Sunday. Therefore, there will be holidays for banks for 14 days. So if you have some important work in the bank then go to the bank only after seeing the holiday list otherwise your free time may be wasted.

According to RBI’s official calendar, most bank branches across the country will remain closed on April 1, (Bank Holidays In April 2026) as it is the day for banks to close accounts for the previous year. Exceptions to this are Aizawl, Gangtok, Kohima, Ranchi, Shillong and Shimla. Then, on April 2, banks will be closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram due to Maundy Thursday. Then there is Good Friday on April 3, on which banks will be closed in the rest of the country, except in the states of Agartala, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu and Srinagar.

April 5 is a Sunday, so banks will be closed. After that, 11th April is the second Saturday and 12th April is a Sunday, so there will be bank holidays. Banks in Agartala, Guwahati, Itanagar, Kochi, Kolkata, Shimla and Thiruvananthapuram are closed on April 15 due to Bengali New Year, Vishu and Himachal Day. April 16 is a holiday in Guwahati on the occasion of Bohag Bihu. Further, banks will remain closed on April 19 as it is a Sunday. April 20 will be a holiday in Bangalore due to Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya. Banks in Agartala state will be closed on April 21 on the occasion of Garia Puja. Further, banks will remain closed on the fourth Saturday on April 25 and Sunday on April 26.
