Navratri Day 7 Bhog Recipe: On the seventh day of Navratri, the fierce manifestation of Goddess Durga—Maa Kalaratri—is worshipped. This form is believed to be the destroyer of negative forces and grants devotees liberation from fear. According to religious beliefs, offering Maa her favorite *Bhog* (sacred food offering) on this day yields special blessings. In particular, *Prasad* (sacred offering) made from jaggery is extremely dear to Maa and is believed to usher in happiness and prosperity in one's life. If you, too, wish to please Maa Kalaratri on this auspicious day, you can easily prepare her favorite *Prasad* right at home.
What is Maa Kalaratri's Favorite *Bhog*?
Jaggery and dishes prepared with it—such as Jaggery Halwa or sweet *Prasad*—constitute Maa Kalaratri's favorite *Bhog*. It is believed that offering jaggery helps dispel sorrows and obstacles.
**Easy Recipe for Making Jaggery Halwa**
**Ingredients:**
1 cup Wheat Flour
1/2 cup Jaggery
2–3 tablespoons Ghee (Clarified Butter)
1 cup of water
Cardamom Powder
**Method for Preparing the *Prasad*:**
Heat the ghee in a pan (*kadai*) and roast the flour until it turns golden brown.
Separately, dissolve the jaggery in the water.
Now, pour the jaggery water into the roasted flour mixture and mix thoroughly.
Cook on a low flame until the Halwa thickens to the desired consistency.
Sprinkle cardamom powder on top to complete the *Prasad*.
**Method for Offering the *Bhog*:**
First, perform the worship (*Puja*) of Maa Kalaratri.
Then, offer the *Prasad* to her.
After a short while, distribute it among family members.
Worshipping Maa Kalaratri helps dispel negative energy and bestows courage, strength, and protection upon one's life. Remember to maintain absolute purity and cleanliness while preparing the *Prasad*. Use only *Satvik* (pure and wholesome) ingredients, and ensure that the offering is first presented to the Divine.
