LPG Shortage: Relief news is emerging for India on the LPG i.e. Liquefied Petroleum Gas front. According to the information, two more Indian ships have left the Strait of Hormuz, although this has not been officially confirmed yet. Earlier, ships named ‘Shivalik’ and ‘Nanda’ have reached India with LPG. Recently an American ship has also reached Mangaluru port.
According to media reports, ships named ‘Jag Vasant’ and ‘Pine Gas’ have left the Strait of Hormuz on Monday morning and have reached international waters and may reach India soon. It is being told that these ships were allowed to proceed only after getting approval from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Important role of Indian Navy
According to sources, the Indian Navy played an important role in getting this approval. The Navy negotiated with Iranian officials to ensure the safe movement of these ships. The report also said that the decision-making process in Iran has slowed down, especially after the death of senior leader Ali Larijani.
Impact of Iran war on India
The impact of the ongoing conflict in West Asia is clearly visible on India also. Indian companies are facing problems like delays in freight transportation and shortage of raw materials. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has also said that pressure on many sectors dependent on global trade is increasing and the supply chain is being affected.
Foreign ships also arrived
On Sunday, a ship named ‘Pixis Pioneer’ carrying LPG from America arrived at New Mangalore port. It departed from Port of Netherlands, Texas on February 14 and is carrying 16,714 tonnes of LPG, which will be handed over to Aegis Logistics.
A day before this, the Russian ship ‘Aqua Titan’ had also reached the port. These ships coming continuously indicate that India is succeeding in maintaining its energy supply even amidst the crisis.
